F-101 Voodoo Pitch Control System
McAir report No. 5790 on the F-101 Voodoo Pitch Control System of this aircraft. Note: This is a late 1950’s brochure and contains sexism in it’s illustrations! But, a LOT of great info! Credit: Mark Nankivil
As one of the MAC “Old Timers” said of this brochure: “I agree that nowadays the drawings would be a no-no. Actually, by about 1961, they would have been forbidden. That's the period when sexism was outlawed at MAC--no touching, no bad jokes, and one could not even address a group of females as, "you gals." “

Some close-up walk around photos of the second Northrop YF-17 Cobra aircraft with serial s/n 72-1569. It is on display at the Western Museum of Flight at Torrance, CA. Credit: Michael Benolkin
From Wikipedia: “The Northrop YF-17 (nicknamed "Cobra") was a prototype lightweight fighter aircraft designed by Northrop aviation for the United States Air Force's Lightweight Fighter (LWF) technology evaluation program. The LWF was initiated because many in the fighter community believed that aircraft like the F-15 Eagle were too large and expensive for many combat roles. The YF-17 was the culmination of a long line of Northrop designs, beginning with the N-102 Fang in 1956, continuing through the F-5 family.”

The aircraft was to be a future supersonic passenger aircraft, baselined to cruise at Mach 2.4, or more than twice the speed of sound. The project started in 1990 and ended during 1999. The goal was to employ up-to-date technologies.”
