This is not related, but I didn't see any other contact information. Here goes. Does anyone know when the slotted tail was first proposed and adopted for the F-4, particularly the Navy versions. I know it was standard on the "J" and "E" for the AF, but primarily interested in when it began to be retrofitted on the "B". It is hard to tell in photos, but it seems like it was a mixed bag of configurations from one squadron to another during the Vietnam era. There is also the question of how accurate dates are on photos. I'm a model builder and just trying to not apply the wrong tail. Thanks.
