McDonnell Douglas Service Pins

Speaking of service pins, I dug out my 40 years of MDC pins plus a few non-service pins.

20 Yr Pin 25 Yr Pin 30 Yr Pin 35 Yr Pin          40 Yr Pin

The jeweled 20 year pin was under the old pin system and the 25, 30, 35 and 40 were under the new pin system.

The first pin I received when I hired on to McDonnell Aircraft Company.

Presentee  MDC 50th    MDC Logo_002

An old McAir Presentee pin, McDonnell Aircraft 50th Anniversary pin and an MDC Logo pin.

Bug Pin

The MDC “Bug” pin.

Boeing

And finally, the Boeing pin after the buy-out with the reworked “Bug”.

My stepdad worked at McDonnell Douglas a long time ago. We found a service pin with the initials MAC in red (like the one pictured above). Do these pins have any monetary value?

I have a 35 year pin from the old system. It is gold and has 4 diamonds on it. My grandfather worked in Santa Monica and Long Beach for Douglass before McDonnell was even in the picture. I'm pretty sure the pin is quite rare! Thanks for your post!

I have what I believe is the rarest Globe-style Douglas service pin: a ten year pin with two diamonds inset and a blue enamel area where it is normally green.
