Northrop YF-17 Cobra Walk Around Photos
From Wikipedia: “The Northrop YF-17 (nicknamed "Cobra") was a prototype lightweight fighter aircraft designed by Northrop aviation for the United States Air Force's Lightweight Fighter (LWF) technology evaluation program. The LWF was initiated because many in the fighter community believed that aircraft like the F-15 Eagle were too large and expensive for many combat roles. The YF-17 was the culmination of a long line of Northrop designs, beginning with the N-102 Fang in 1956, continuing through the F-5 family.”

High Speed Civil Transport Study
From Wikipedia: “The High Speed Civil Transport (HSCT), a supersonic airliner, was the focus of the High-Speed Research (HSR) Program, a NASA program to develop the technology needed to design and build a supersonic transport that would be environmentally acceptable and economically feasible. The aircraft was to be a future supersonic passenger aircraft, baselined to cruise at Mach 2.4, or more than twice the speed of sound. The project started in 1990 and ended during 1999. The goal was to employ up-to-date technologies.”

Douglas C-124C Globemaster II Walk Around
The C-124C version introduced more powerful engines, weather radar and better de-icing equipment. These changes were later refitted to earlier aircraft. A total of 447 Globemaster IIs were built.

Lockheed CL-423 P2V-7 Troop Transport
The McDonnall Douglas Scale Model Club magazine called Crazed Plastic published several articles by an author named “Fatz”. These articles were on projected Lockheed aircraft that didn’t make the cut. Fatz was a former Lockheed employee who did similar articles for other International Plastic Model Society (IPMS) publications such as “Flying Tiger” and “Dirty Plastic” and West Michigan.

F2H-4 Banshee Walk Around
“Accepted by the Navy on 24 July 1953, the Museum's F2H-4 (Bureau Number 126419) served in many Marine and Navy fighter and all-weather fighter squadrons and made a deployment in the carrier Coral Sea (CVA-43). Stricken from the active naval aircraft inventory in May 1962, it was assigned to the Naval Air Technical Training Center at Jacksonville, Florida, and transferred to the Museum in 1970.”

Douglas A-26 Invader Pilot Training Manual
A copy of the Pilot Training Manual for the Douglas A-26 Invader aircraft. Dated 1945.
“The Air Forces' most experienced training and supervisory personnel have collaborated to make it a complete exposition of what your pilot duties are, how each will be performed, and why it must be performed in the manner prescribed.
The techniques and procedures described in this book are standard and mandatory. In this respect the manual serves the dual purpose of a training checklist and working handbook. Use it to make sure that you learn everything described herein. Use it to study and review the essential facts concerning everything taught. Such additional self-study and review will not only advance your training, but will alleviate the burden of your already overburdened instructors.
This training manual does not replace the Technical Orders for the airplane, which will always be your primary source of information concerning the A-26 so long as you fly it. This is essentially the textbook of the A-26.”

Northrop-McDonnell Douglas YF-23A Walk Around Photos
YF-23A PAV-2, AF serial. no. 87-0801, registration number N232YF, was on exhibit at the Western Museum of Flight until 2004, when it was reclaimed by Northrop Grumman and used as a display model for a YF-23-based bomber. PAV-2 was returned to the Western Museum of Flight and was on display as of 2010 at the museum's new location at Zamperini Field, Torrance, California. Photos shot November 14 2003.
