History of Californian Aviation

Untitled 2 A got a note from Joe Towner alerting me to a new web site on the History of Californian Aviation.

Info from Joe:

“I just wanted to drop you a line to let you know about a new guide that Air New Zealand have recently launched that celebrates the rich history of aviation in California. From early pioneers in the 1910s, through to World War II, space shuttles and modern tech companies like SpaceX. Although California, and Los Angeles in particular, is very well known as the home of media and entertainment, its role in aviation history can sometimes be overshadowed. I thought this might be an interesting look back for your readers, at such events as:

- The first major airshow in America
- The first and only flight of "The Spruce Goose"
- Creation of Apollo 9 landing capsules in Downey, CA
- The launch of reusable rockets by Space X”

Lot’s of interesting facts!
