I was looking for information on the Banshee when I came across your site. For me, it was a great fine and I really appreciate your efforts. My initial search was for how the barrier device in front of the canopy operated. From what I have read so for, it looks like it probably had a mechanical latch that was engaged once it was pushed back into the fuselage. Not sure if the release mechanism was electrically controlled or mechanically controlled. Just a side note, my dad worked as a field and service mechanic for McDonnell from 1948 till his death in 1985. He worked on the FH-1, F2H's, F3H's, F-101's, F-4's and finally the F-15. So, I have a great fondness for McDonnell products.
