In 1979, as an offshoot of The McDonnell Douglas Scale Model Club, the St. Louis Gateway Chapter of the International Plastic Model Society (IPMS) started a quarterly publication called “Crazed Plastic”. Most of the issues were edited by Bill Drescher or Mike Mackowski. Many of the articles were about MDC products written by MDC employees (Myself included). Crazed Plastic published 36 issues from 1979 to 1988. Several issues had actual paint chips include with the articles. While primarily a magazine for plastic scale modelers, much historical data was preserved and presented. Here are a few of the Crazed Plastic articles:

Dear Sir
I'm unable to access the full size image explaining the removal of turkey feathers on the F-15s. Could you kindly re-upload that image.
Sincerely
Done. Your welcome!
There is also, on the single seater at least, a yellow 'U.S. ARMY' on the starboard wing top and port wing bottom.
